Printable.biz.id – The crash involving an American Airlines plane and a U.S. Army Black Hawk helicopter is predicted to impact global aviation insurance.

Aviation insurance practitioner and analyst, Arman Juffry, stated that the large number of claims filed due to this incident could lead to a surge in insurance premiums in the future.

Furthermore, Arman explained that insurance claims for the accident would proceed as usual. However, if the investigation reveals government involvement, claims could be filed through a special scheme in the U.S.

“If the investigation later finds government involvement, the claims could escalate. In that case, they could be processed via the US VSST or VCF, funds allocated by the U.S. government for victims in cases involving state involvement,” said Arman on Sunday (02/02/2025).

Additionally, he explained that accident claims in the U.S. are generally larger than in other countries. This is due to several factors, including the number of affected families and the economic status of surviving victims.

He highlighted that the principle of strict liability applies, meaning that claims must be paid without debating fault in the incident. Furthermore, victims can also file lawsuits to seek compensation.
